Mrs. Depardieu and the case of the forgotten blog

Been a while since my last post, sorry guys! I've been off on holiday (to exotic Lincoln and sunny Stewarton) and now i'm ill! joy!

I've found it really hard to get anything I like out of my pencil lately... I've been looking at lots of really creative and funky blogs and I realised that I hardly ever draw women, probably because I can't! So heres a nice wee post it just to back that statement up. Look at the crazy lady with the beehive - how very random! These were drawn whilst trying to get radiosity on the go in 3Ds Max. The one at the bottom on the left is based on my matric card from uni, its meant to be a goofy version of me but i think the real thing is worse!


Since I was in the mood for drawing women, I gave old Mrs Depardieu a shot. I have an animation in development (its been in preproduction for 3 years - going real slow) and it involves a bakery with lots of lovely cakes. One customer of the shop is Mrs Depardieu (not a final name, was the first name that popped into my head as I was writing the script and its stuck) a small pig-like lady who loves cakes. A short fat lady who loves poking her nose in everyone's business and gossiping. This one also happens to love eclaires. I've spent hours trying to get my mental image of her onto paper and today this happened (again on a post it note)

The post it note on the right is by far the best drawing of her that I've managed to date, what do you think? Does she look snooty? Everyone knows a lady like this, they seem to be everwhere you go, waiting, hoping, ready to nosy, gossip and be irritating. Gosh, i feel ill...
